This is similar to the sort of army I often take to a multiplayer battle, it's best at anti-cavalry since the idea is to hold them off while the crossbows kill the horses. Probably weakest against an infantry heavy or musket fielding army. Winning using this also relies on the battlefield being a friendly shape.
Serpentines are both fun to use and can encourage the enemy to attack. The mounted sergants are for suicidal anti-cavalry attacks, sometimes I don't take the other heavy cavalry relying on the general and the suicide light cav, taking some gunpowder or melee infantry instead.
