I couldn't remember how far the spears can be upgraded armour-wise, this is an example of a defensive setup intended to draw the enemy in by overpowering them at range - but hopefully cause enough damage/fear through gunpowder usage to let the spears and minimal cavalry to do the rest. Cavalry should be bogged down by the mounted sergants within range of spears / missiles if possible (works against almost any number of cavalry if they keep them grouped together, (silly human opponents...)).
Vunerable to lots of enemy cavalry if they spread out and flank or being out gunned by artillery etc.
