 Although the highlands of the Americas have many sources of water, when a settlement grows to a significant size its inhabitants may find a need for access to more fresh water than is currently at hand, and the Aqueduct is sometimes a simpler solution than relocating.
Channels are either formed by construction of a stone causeway, or simply by carving a channel in the face of mountain sides to allow water to flow from natural springs and high-altitude lakes down to the people below. |
