The Kurds are fierce soldiers since ancient history, they bravely fought the invading Muslim armies to Persia and Iraq, after decades later they converted to Islam and some of them participated in the Islamic conquest of central Asia, the Kurdish Rawadids established a Muslim Kurdish emirate in the 10 century, in the 12 century Caliph An-nasir came to the throne, eager to revive the glories of the early Abbasid caliphate, he ruled south and central Iraq, after the fall of the Zengid Sultanate in Mosul, he captured many cities in northern Iraq including Kurdish cities, many of the Kurds in these cities were brigands, The caliph recruited Kurds in his army
