Bedouin Archers Arabs were used to teaching their children archery from their boyhood. Umar, the second Caliph, advised Arab fathers to teach their sons archery, swimming, and horsemanship. The bedouin archers are less efficient than the Turks, but they can inflict high casualties on light infantry.
