The javelin is the ideal infantry weapon. It is light, easily able to be carried on marches, and can inflict painful casualties. It is usually considered a poor man’s weapon, but that is no reason to underestimate its strength in numbers. Rajput levies with enough brawn can hurl javelins powerfully enough to disrupt enemy ranks and marches. They try to keep a keen eye for cavalry, or else be slaughtered by a surprise enemy flanking move.
