Their name translating to "Dragons", these hardy swordsmen of the highlands of the Transcaucasus and Eastern Anatolia live up to such a reputation as warriors of a dragon's spirit. Though the courtly life and aristocracy of Armenia may reflect upon Roman and Latin influence, the heart of these stoic, enduring people have long been the rugged herdsmen and farmers who fight not for the whims of Kings and Emperors but the preservation of their lands. As men of rough living, their equipment is without any needless vanity - a simple round wooden shield, sturdy sharp sword, and worn mail hauberk is all that's necessary. Theirs is a martial pride out of skill and courage, not birth.
