Sudanese Tribal Warband The tribes of the Sudan are many, with the additions of the Northern Bedouin, Eastern Beja, or Southern Ethiopians adding to the diverse mix. With many being semi or wholly nomadic, conflicts are common, be they be within Nubia itself or with its neighbors. Such tribal feuding has hardened the martial spirit of the tribesmen of Nubia, the wealth and prestige of warfare elevating a number of individuals out from the poverty suffered by many of the nomadic tribes of the Sudan.
