The whims of great rulers and greater powers have long swept up the simple and humble pastoral, agrarian and otherwise independent men into their own selfish feuds, and the common men of Georgia are no exception to this bitter rule of history. For the native dynasties of their own aristocracy or those of foreign lands, these free peoples, civil guardsmen and lordless soldiers stand as conscripts for the powers that be to recruit. Stoically, they will serve a foreign master but do so with a reservation absent when fighting for their country free and not their land as part of a greater whole. Their equipment reflects such a dubious martial role, being well-to-do in comparison to the arsenal of peoples less militant than the Georgians. Light mail shirts, rugged leather cuirasses along with oval shield and spear make up their gear, allowing them to stand as worthwhile levies for those Nomadic forces who lack their own solid infantry but being a poor alternative to those who may call on their own men for such a task.
