Tadzreuli, translated verbatim as "templar" in Georgian, are the servants of the Holy Apostolic Church of Georgia. Georgian clergy were one of the richest classes in XII-XV c. century Georgia and ruled a large number of lesser nobles, aznaurs, free men, and peasants. The Church of Aznaury relied upon these Tadzreuli to protect the Christian faith and served the tsar and native land. Gradually, in the highly developed feudal society of Georgia, Tadzreuli became militarized into an elite infantry swordsman of the Georgian. As knights of honor, they are always ready to give their lives for the faith, the native land, and their tsar. They the well trained and well equipped soldiers experienced in war, strong in spirit, and without sorrow for the enemies of Georgia and Christianity, but remain virtuous to the simple people and are loved by all. Enemies, however, tremble before their stoic gaze.
