The Pashtun are the ethic Afghans and comprise the ruling class and royal families. Always on the brink of chaos either from rival tribesmen or foreign invaders, only the unwise Pashtun neglect themselves in body, mind, and weapons for war. Though donkeys are the beast of choice in the mountains of Afghanistan, these men have adopted the steed for combat. They make effective cavalry to run and cut down their lighter armed foes.
