Unit Description |
|
|
Starting with the Crusades, a whole new world of trading was opened to the Italian states of Genoa and Venice. These Italian emigraters brought with them their weapon of choice, the crossbow. Consisting of the merchants themselves and men who could afford the new weapon this levy is drawn from the gentlemen class. However, they still have to be burley men to carry the heavy European crossbow and armor. Approaching infantry will be faced with many devastating iron bolts, and if the enemy draws closer these men will wield their swords.
