The men of this unit have a special and honourable task. They are the leaders of a deadly infantry charge and capable of breaking the formation of spearmen. They are selected for their strong constitution and wield heavy Tirpan axes. These weapons are capable of cutting of extremities or even cleaving an enemy in two. Yet through their lack of shields Tirpan Azaps are vulnerable against missiles, so a general would do wise not to waste them in skirmish before the real battle begins.
