Unit Description |
|
 |
Berserkers, Rastriagha have evolved from the Pagan Celtic tradition of warriors acheiving berserker-like states, such as the "warp-spasm" of the unstoppable warrior Cuchulainn in the Ulster Cycle of Gaelic mythology. These warriors are a remnant of this older style of fighting which has been Christianized. The Rastriaga were generally religious fanatics and usually very well trained and educated, and therefore very intelligent. They use hammers in battle, a weapon common to the Irish used to counter the heavy Gaelic shields of other tuaths and kingoms. These hammers prove equally effective against armour where a heavy blow to knock a man senseless or even kill has proven to be most effective. As might be expected due to their fanatical nature these warriors are noted for their high morale.
