Axethrowers Although originally designed as a tool for hunting game, the throwing axe has obvious utility on the battlefield as an instrument of war. A typical throwing axe is carefully weighted to maximize speed and rotation in flight, and is typically used to devastating effectiveness before a charge in order to break the enemy ranks.
