Early Lithuanian approach to warfare was rather viking - it was waged for plunder rather than primarily conquest, although the Lithuanian tribe did expand against other neighbouring Balts. The warriors were primitive in comparison with the western Europeans, and the bow wasn't employed widely if at all (representing that is a lack of experience bonus for the archers, although I would've preffered putting javelinmen in their place instead). Armies would be composed of so-called 'good men' (gerieji vyrai), gathered from fields (laukai); they were a richer type of laukininkai, ordinary tribesmen. Armies of the Lithuanians were largely disorganized at the tribal stage, although they're beginning to take shape into more organized forces, a process which would be accelerated by the contact with the more advanced Germans and Russians. The Dievas Guard acts as a bodyguard unit to represent the spiritual position of the dukes in the pagan society (as a separate position of the leaders of religion didn't form in pagan Lithuania).
